As a 14-year practicing attorney, the greatest struggle I faced was trying to assist people who have true legal needs but little or no ability to pay an attorney’s fees. At least half of the people who sought to hire me did not have the money to do so.

I was first introduced to LegalShield at a chamber of commerce event in the fall of 2015. I had never heard of LegalShield before that time and could not believe that a family could have access to a law firm of attorneys for less than $20 a month. But I definitely wanted to learn more. I spent the next six months researching LegalShield and the law firms that work for LegalShield members. I could not find a single flaw and decided to become an Associate in February 2016.

Shortly after signing up as an Associate, we had an unexpected death in the family, so we did not immediately start working the business. It was not until June that we had our first PBR. Our mentor and upline Executive Director, Alistair Edwards, came down from Atlanta for that PBR. After the PBR, he told us that we had to go to conference—in Oklahoma—only a few weeks later. We definitely hesitated, but are so very thankful that we went. Although we had only been in the business a few months, going to that conference changed everything for us. We fell in love with the company, the people, and the opportunity.

On August 1, 2016, I closed the doors of my law practice to work LegalShield full-time. I am well aware of the need for this amazing service. We tell anyone and everyone who will listen that they can have access to legal assistance AND afford it. I do direct sales, focusing on B2B and employee benefits. John builds our team. I do group enrollments by day, and we conduct PBRs by night. We have been Associates for less than a year, and yet the business has already changed our lives so much. There is real joy in finding a career that allows you to assist and empower so many people. The greatest thing of all is that I get to build this business alongside my best friend in the entire world. We are the Sullivans, and we are just getting started!
